Home Sweet Home

We are finally in our permanent home in Tokyo, yay! It feels great to finally receive our air shipment and start to feel at home. We are looking forward to exploring our neighborhood and getting settled into daily life. We are still unpacking and we do need some furniture, we have the essentials already- beds, a sofa, TV with cable and internet. What else do we need? Our dining table is on order and won’t be delivered for another 3 weeks, so you can image when our boys ask- where are we going to eat? Japanese style on the floor!

Here are pictures of our local neighborhood. The first picture is about a 5 min walk from our place, it is the famous Meguro River walkway. This is the summer view of the river and I plan to take a picture from the same spot as the seasons change. One of my favorite sites in Tokyo.

Blake has had his company car since we got here, however no parking at the temporary housing so he left it at work. We finally picked it up and did an initial Costco run and drove back from Kawasaki to our home. Let me just say, it was a little scary. The roads are very narrow, and driving on the opposite side of the roads made for a little adventure during our 30 kilometer drive back from Costco. Right now, we prefer to walk, train or subway around, even to buy pillows, sheets, food etc. We don’t mind.
